Unless you are walking an established Trail our walks tend to be circular and varied. Our groups are generally small up to 8 and our aim is to offer holidays that allow individuals to relax, enjoy good company, good food and the natural beauty of the area. Walks are between 3 to 8 miles depending on the group, they are relaxed and are definitely not ‘route marches’.
We do however offer planned routes of any length according to your own schedules and provide maps and transport.
The following will give you an idea of a 2 day Walking Break (2 night’s accommodation).
Arrive Day 1. (late afternoon)
Settle in, enjoy a cup of freshly brewed tea or coffee in the conservatory. Visit a viewing point to get a feel for the weekend’s walking and viewing. Stretch your legs and return to the Old Barn for supper.
Day 2 – Walk 1.
Breakfast – collect packed lunch –
Path to Zennor – You head up past farmland, across wide expanse of moor which needs careful negotiation and onto granite outcrops and carn that make this a most dramatic coastline. We will stop to picnic and eat packed lunches before arriving at the local pub. After quick drink and chatter will continue our walk and return to the Old Barn to freshen up and enjoy dinner.
Day 3. – Walk 2.
Breakfast – collect packed lunch –
Mousehole to Lamorna – Follow the coastal path which offers amazing views over Mounts Bay (ranked as one of the most beautiful bay in the World) – granite cliffs with the ocean sparkling below; we proceed to the Nature Reserve at Kemyel Crease and then we glimpse Lamorna Cove in the distance. Down the footpath to sit in the cove and if timed well to watch the divers practice. Eat our packed lunch under the harbour wall and then onto to the Lamorna Wink for a drink before setting off inland back to Raginnis and Mousehole.
Return to the Old Barn to depart at approx. 2.30ish.
