Donnette Levine Bufton was born in Guyana West Indies on the South America Mainland in 1948. Her family travelled to the UK in 1953 and she was educated at the RC Convent School in Plymouth. She had a successful career in Business Development and Management in the South West region - Devon, Somerset, Wiltshire and Cornwall.

Attracted by the diversity of the landscape of the Penwith Peninsula Donnette her husband Ed moved to Cornwall in 2002 where they established a walking business. Taking visitors on guided walks and exploring the coastal, moorland and rural footpaths has been an exhilarating experience.  She never tires of the changing landscapes as new seasons and weather alter mood and colour.

At this time Donnette started to paint and photograph. She has found that experimenting with colour, texture and different materials has been a wonderful all-absorbing experience. Donnette works in Acrylic, Collage, Mixed Media and Photography.  Her work is based on the landscape. Her colorful images makes one think of pieces by Patrick Caulfield and his use of clear outlines and flat colour to express atmosphere and wit.

Donnette has exhibited her work at the Morvah Schoolhouse in 2006 and Lamorna in 2008. Her next exhibition will be at the Morvah Schoolhouse during the 1st - 14th May 2010.  She has a studio and a small gallery at her home in the rural hamlet of Bosulval near Chysauster English Heritage Village - ring her on 01736 367742 if you wish to visit.
